This is what it looks like where I work. It is also where I do a lot of my arting (metalwork, glass engraving, anything involving spray paint -- like the Nerf Longstrike customization I will be posting later) after hours. Top photo is a view of the workshop from near the door out to the rest of the store, while the bottom shows my workbench.
It's not usually this clean, as you can probably guess. I've recently reorganized pretty much the whole place to make room for my newest shiny toy: an ultrasonic cleaning tank. That would be the big steel box visible at lower left of the top photo. Those white cabinets along the far wall used to be next to the sink, jutting out into the middle of the floor, and a big old wood lathe used to be against the back wall. The lathe was sold (a wood lathe isn't very useful when you deal primarily with metal) and the cabinets were moved to their current place.
The workbench itself was a horrendous mess when I started work here almost three years ago. I had a clear space of maybe 20x20cm to work in; the rest of the bench was just so covered in junk to the point you couldn't see the surface of the wood. First chance I had, that bench got cleaned off.
My boss can't find anything in here anymore.
