Artist's Comments

Big difference between stargazing in city suburbs and stargazing in a small town in the middle of nowhere. (Not quite in the middle of nowhere, but far enough away from cities.) This was taken from the deck of my house in Canada. During the summer sometime, I think. You can see a lot more stars in the fullsize downloaded image.

I have decided I want to live in the middle of nowhere, and get myself as large a telescope as I can afford. I have a 625x or thereabouts one now, (I love garage sales), but the crosshairs are off, so it's delightfully hit-and-miss trying to find anything.

Heh...sounds fun. We have a small scope, but my eyes have gotten so bad I can't use it.
