I am so ridiculously proud of this thing you really have no idea. It's a redo of the third drawing down on this thing. A side-by-side comparison of the two is over here.

MY FIRST 100% DIGITAL DRAWING THAT DOESN'T SUCK! :dummy:

This here is Ulixes, my basilisk OC. Usually he's pretty good at keeping the simmering rage in check, but make the mistake of pushing him too far and you get something like what you see up there. Even in a 'verse rife with fancy guns and energy beam weapons, he favours blunt objects and his own natural weapons of claws, teeth, fists and the serrated spikes growing out of his head and tail. Plus, standing at over three metres tall and composed almost entirely of muscle and fury, he looks hella intimidating. He's very much a mle fighter and moves a lot faster than would be expected, given his bulk. Your best bet is to shoot at him from a distance, because once he gets in close, you are so completely, utterly screwed.

Don't bother sparing any pity for the poor bastard(s) Ulixes is busy pulverizing. They probably deserve it.

Chim has figured out how to draw proper wounds. This bodes ill for the rest of her OCs. :iconevilgrin2plz:

YAY PROGRESS. :iconyeyplz:

Seriously though, this is such a jump from the old version. The anatomy has improved by leaps and bounds, and the line-less look works really well here. The wounds all look so lovely and detailed as well - I pity the poor bastard who may be subject to this sort of drawing next. :stare: I love the little realistic touches on the staff, like the green reflection of Ulixes' body on it as well as the smeared handprints. Oh, and don't forget the bite on the tail, as well as the dribbles of blood everywhere which look so realistic in the paths the droplets are taking over the scales/skin(?) around the wounds. All those little touches just make this more awesome. Ulixes looks like quite the badass here, and god help whatever poor thing is on the receiving end of this partially off-screen ass-kicking.

You should totally be proud of this. :la: It's an awesome improvement and it's great to see more of your characters too. When you end up drawing more things like this, I can't wait to see the outcomes (whether they're bloody or not)!

I'll probably be doing more in this line-less way. Every time I've tried colouring in line art so far, the results have been... nothing I would want to share. I found it a lot easier to build up the form when all I had in terms of line art was a stick-figure-esque skeleton outline. Will see how well the method translates to more complicated body types ifwhen I draw Cookie. (Or, gods help me, that leggy freak, AKA Quasi.) It was a small but enjoyable challenge thinking about how and where the blood would flow when Ulixes is obviously moving all over the place. Gravity only counts for so much then, and the flying blood conveys the motion, I hope. And yes, he's scaly, but I certainly wasn't going to try drawing all of those. The person having their ass handed to them by way of a big metal stick is probably whoever shot him. Odds of survival are... not good.

Drawing wounds is way more fun than it should really be, so maybe I'll just draw beat-to-hell badass versions of everyone in time. :iconikilleditplz:

I'd love to see it if you did decide to draw Cookie or the leggy freak Quasi. And yep, the flying blood conveys motion very well I think. I can imagine him moving very easily given the way the blood adds that sort of flow to the drawing. And yeah, I don't blame you for not wanting to draw all those scales. :stare: That would take a very long time.

I pity whoever is next on the list to be drawn, then! But it'll all be great to see, and on top of that you'll improve even more at drawing too! :la:

For all that he's over three metres tall and several hundred kilos of pure muscle and rage, he's surprisingly fast and agile.

Got plans for Khufu next, actually. Goal is to have that one done within the next two weeks. There will definitely be a lot of blood, but I don't think any will be his.
