Bindrunes!

"What is a bindrune?" I'm sure most of you are asking.

It's pretty much exactly what its name says: several runes bound together to form a single symbol. Up there are examples of bindrunes formed from words, people's real-life initials and pseudonym initials, and even entire names that fit nicely into a single symbol.

Left-to-right, top-to-bottom (sort of):
- Black/gold and white/gold pair belong to =Aktaroth, and are the runes that make up her name.
- Black/white and white/black set belong to *Hell-is-a-56. The black/white says "START" and the white/black says "END".
- Two white/purple bindrunes belong to ~AngelWarriorQueen, and are made up of her dA and real life initials.
- White/teal belongs to ~StalkedByDragons, and is made up of her initials.
- Black/red to the far right belongs to ~Hells-Rebellion, and is made up of her initials.
- Black/red to the far left is mine.
- Black/red set at bottom centre belong to *RalfMaximus. Top one is "RM", bottom one is "RALFMAXIMUS" and I am quite astounded and ridiculously happy that I managed to fit all that into one and still have it look nice. The green thing is a glass crystal I glued into an air bubble that I hit, because it was too big to fix up any other way.
- Black/silver and black/copper at bottom left belong to *illmatar, and are her dA name and initials, respectively.
- Black/silver and black/copper at bottom right belong to *MGMags, and are his name and initials, respectively.

Tools & Materials: Ornamental glass stones, paper, ballpoint pen, black and silver permanent markers, flannel cloth, Dremel, round diamond burrs, abrasive soap, water, porcelain paint, oven, glass crystal thing, superglue.

I am drooling over these. It's a always a challenge to connect the individual runes without the bindrune turning into a mess of lines, but you did very well. These are beautiful!

Yeah, so far I've been pleasantly surprised by how well most of them have worked out, especially Ralf's crazy one. I'm kind of stuck on keeping them all oriented the same way though, and I think I need to break out of that to open up more possibilities.

I finally got them to the post office yesterday. No idea how long it might take to get there though. Seems to be anywhere from a week to two weeks.

That's fascinating. I've never heard of bindrunes but these look amazingly cool.

They're pretty interesting things. I enjoy the challenges of combining lots of runes into a single bind that's still aesthetically pleasing. One of the black/red ones up there has nine different runes in it.
